i really hate it when people judge me when i say fight club is my favorite movie. i actually hate telling people that because they assume i’m like every other fuckwad who goes “OH YEAH DUDE IT WAS SO AMAZING THAT SHIT IS SO TRUE I’M TOTALLY GONNA START A FIGHT CLUB AND BRING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT FUCK YEAH.” no. absolutely not. that film reinforced ideas that i’d had for a very long time and made me realize that i am not alone in thinking this way. i have literally seen it at least 250 times. i’m not lying or even over-exaggerating, you can ask anyone who knew me when i first saw it exactly how many times i’ve sat through it. i’ve even watched it with the commentary tracks multiple times because i am a huge fucking nerd.
no. you don’t understand. i love chuck palahniuk’s work before haunted (except for rant, which fucking ruled) and my first tattoo is from my favorite book of his, diary. that man helped shape my adolescence in a way that i will never forget.
that film WAS amazing, and not in the way that every fucking bro on the face of the planet thinks it is, and i know it will always hold a special place in my heart.
plus that film reminded me that i fucking love the pixies so fuck all ya’ll.
